ARCH 505 Sustainable and Affordable Architecture Project
Looped Living Quarters
Detroit, MI
* This is a group work project
The project is located at 235 S McKinstry St, Detroit, MI. It is a competition project aimed at reducing waste during construction and operations. We proposed an adaptive reuse to turn this old factory warehouse into a mixed-use residential and commercial building. This project is also designed to be a high-performance building. By reusing onsite building components and recycling materials from demolished local buildings, we aim to keep the proposed project’s carbon emissions during construction and operation as low as possible.
