Collective Living Apartmet

- This is a group project in collaboration with my classmate Hongyue Dai.
- The project is designing an apartment building with around 22 to 28 units and a library that aims to emphasize our definition of collective living, we came up with our statement on collective living and start the form design of the building by doing a model of collection series.


Statement of Collective Living

The overarching objective of collectivity is to accumulate vibrantly different individuals. The collectivity could be daily stuff or it could be human community that shares same intentions or ideologies. Like our models of collection, the cosmetic products, human individuals has their distinguished traits and edges.
Our goal for the colective residence is to create a space that people feel comfortable interacting and sharing with each other without compromise their own characteristics and needs.


Model of Collection

Our group came up with collecting the cosmetic and beauty products, and with a scenario of fitting all the products into a box by stacking them up. Following the collection,  we developed basic logic to define the shape of individual mass for the building and the irregular way of stacking the mass to fit in the site (which is treated as an imaginary box)
